Industrial Spin Casting

Infrastructure Rehabilitation (Centrifugally Cast Concrete Pipe - CCCP)

Since 2013, MuddRuckers has proudly served as the licensed applicator for Spin Casting – a groundbreaking technology that has transformed the rehabilitation of culverts, storm sewers, and larger diameter pipes throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northwestern Ontario.

What is Spin Casting?

This innovative rehabilitation process employs centrifugally applied high-strength, fiber-reinforced concrete, known as CCCP (Centrifugally Cast Concrete Pipe). Widely recognized in the US, CCCP offers a cost-effective and durable solution, extending the lifespan of corrugated steel pipes (CSP) and concrete pipes to an impressive 50 years or more.

MuddRuckers spearheaded the introduction of this process, also referred to as Spin Casting, in Canada. Our inaugural project, commissioned by the Saskatchewan Department of Highways and Infrastructure, marked the beginning of our journey in utilizing this cutting-edge technology. Since then, we have successfully completed additional projects for prominent entities such as CN Rail, Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation (MIT), and various municipalities.

The success of all these ventures has contributed significantly to our expertise in CCCP technology, garnered through navigating diverse conditions and applications. MuddRuckers takes pride in being the forerunner in training applicators licensed by the parent company (APM) in the BC and Ontario markets. Furthermore, our collaboration extends to consulting with our partner organization in Alberta on their projects.

Key Achievements:

  1. Successful Project Completion:
    • Over the years, MuddRuckers has successfully completed 12 projects, encompassing more than 3 kilometers of pipe.
  2. Training and Licensing:
    • We have played a pivotal role in training applicators licensed by APM in British Columbia and Ontario, contributing to the wider adoption of CCCP technology.
  3. National and International Collaboration:
    • Our collaboration with the APM team and sister organizations in different provinces has provided us with invaluable insights and a wealth of collective experience.

Each CCCP application undertaken by MuddRuckers is meticulously engineered to meet the unique requirements and conditions of the project. The product is now licensed and produced in Canada (British Columbia), adhering to the exacting standards set by APM. In addition to the expertise of our local licensed engineer, our collaboration with the APM team ensures that our clients receive cutting-edge solutions backed by a wealth of knowledge and experience.
